2025 was a GREAT year for us! We traveled over 5,300 miles for 8 different shows and had great success! Some of our biggest wins to highlight are:

🏆 Overall Grand Champion both junior and open at NSPA in Lincon, NE with a LF Ameraucana cockerel (bred by Brad Stonebarger)
🏆 Overall Jr Show Champion at the Red Cedar Showdown in Menomonie, WI with a bantam Rhode Island Red pullet
🏆 Reserve Champion Goose at Ohio National with a Steinbacher gander (bred by Julie Couch)
🏆 Champion Goose and Reserve Champion Waterfall in Dayton, OH with a Steinbacher gander
🏆 Champion Waterfowl at NWPFC in Athens, WI with a Welsh Harlequin drake
🏆 Reserve Champion open SCCL at Central Indiana Poultry Show with a bantam Rhode Island Red pullet

Gracie continues to work hard in showmanship, and this year was champion at Central Indiana and NSPA, reserve champion at NWPFC and WI International, and 5th at Ohio National.

The incubator is already up and running here and hoping for similar success in 2026!

This weekend was the Central Indiana Poultry Show, which is a really well run show with great people and great competition! Unfortunately we were missing Gracie’s best pal Elliot, but the kids still had a great time.
We had some exciting wins, one being Gracie finally won her showmanship division after being runner-up the last 2 years. The other win was my Red pullet (Gracie has named Princess Elena) made it onto champion row! It was a huge class with fantastic quality birds…it was quite the honor to have our home grown girl up on that stage 🥰
Unfortunately the trip wasn’t without its hiccup, and that was a blown tire (and fender) just south of the Wisconsin border. I tell ya, being on the side of I90 with 4 kids and a trailer full of valuable birds in the dark is not anything I want to do again! So I am very glad to have all of us home safely.
Anyway, without further ado, results:

While big brother was away at the big show in Dayton, OH, the littles and I snuck off to Menomonie for the Red Cedar Showdown.
Our hard work was put to the test, and Gracie came out on top with a HUGE win! I couldn’t be more excited for our work with the Reds to be paying off! Jace got a win as well, and there were lots of smiles to go around despite the crazy October heat! Results are as follows:

This weekend landed us in Portage for the Wisconsin International Poultry Show, and WOW! Tons of high quality birds…over 3,800 entries! Bryce and Jace had some placings with their ducks (which is not an easy feat always) but no big awards. I am still very proud of how Jace has been handling chicken show life 🥰
Gracie, however, was able to showcase her hard work with some hardware!

I showed a pair of our bantam Rhode Island Reds in the open class, and our pullet placed 3rd in a class of over 15 high quality birds. This, plus Gracie’s placings, is great for us because we bred these birds and it means our breeding program is headed in the right direction 😊

Oh, and Bryce expanded his collection of waterfowl by adding a pair of Steinbacher geese 🙄🤪🥰

Next weekend we split up…Bryce is headed to Dayton and the littles and I will stay in WI and head to Menomonie!

Our first show of the year was just a hop, skip, and a jump for us over to Athens for the Northwoods Poultry Fanciers Club double show and it was a success! It was Jace’s first show, and Bryce’s first running with the big guns in the open class. And it was also my first show, giving in to my kids’ pressure to show my own birds 🤣
But the most exciting was that all winners were birds we hatched this year!!
