Hi families!! We’re thinking about starting a Little Farmers Homestead Collective in Hamburg.
I’d love to introduce myself! I’m Suzanne Cross, a mother of three, and I’ve been homeschooling our two youngest children for the past seven years. I’m also the Operations Director here at Greene Acres Family Farm , a Veterinary Technician, former owner of a catering company, and an avid gardener and sourdough baker!
Over the years, I’ve found that some of the best learning happens when children can get their hands dirty, care for animals, grow food, create something with their hands, and simply have the space to explore.
I would be spearheading the program, and before we officially get it off the ground, we’d love to see if there is enough interest in our community.
Little Farmers Homestead Collective
📍 Greene Acres Family Farm, Hamburg
🗓️ Fridays | 10 AM–1 PM
*Ages 4–12
*Parents remain on-site
*Small-group, hands-on learning
Each week would be a new adventure and could include:
🐓 Hands-on animal care & learning
🌱 Gardening, planting & harvesting
🥚 Farm chores like collecting eggs & filling waters
🍅 Farm-to-table & healthy cooking activities
🎨 A themed craft or take-home project
🐴 Time with the horses & our other farm friends
🍂 Nature exploration & seasonal activities
…and plenty of muddy hands, big smiles & farm memories along the way!
Pricing
Drop-In: $45/child
4-Week Session: $160/child ($40/week)
8-Week Session: $300/child ($37.50/week)
Siblings: 15% off
Our goal is to keep this small, personal, and hands-on — a place where children can learn practical homesteading skills while building confidence, responsibility, and a genuine connection to the land and animals.
