Impromptu Neighber trail ride with Martha, Stefanie, Ashley, and I. Great time with the ladies..
Last Night’s Equine Palwow.
Reinforcing Titan’s stall for his sling and hoist just in case he ever needs it in the future. This took 24 bags of concrete. Big thanks to Bella and Alma for all the help with mixing the cement, our arms will most likely be sore tomorrow.
Last trail ride before school starts.
Recommendations: Structural engineers or one with knowledge in this realm. I am desperately trying to save my four year-old Clydesdale who is New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania, and is coming home soon, but will need a hoisting system for the rest of his recovery. Pictured below is what we wanted to build in his 12 x 12 stall. Originally, the middle beam was going to go left to right. However, now that beam will be a fixed beam on top of the 2 parallel beams to gain additional needed height. The top beam will have a hoist that could go left or right. The four 6 x 6 x 16‘s will be dug down and cemented in to the ground. Brackets and braces will be applied for securing the beams to the walls and additional bracing if needed. My question to anyone with this type of knowledge. I need 3 — 12 foot I-beams in a quick hurry. I was thinking a steel rolled beam W6x12 (50ksi) 4” wide and 6” Deep would be sufficent to hold a 1,575 pound horse. But I am not sure that is strong enough. Also, I wanted to know if anyone knew where I could get three I-beams very quickly.
** CAD Diagram is the original design the new design would have the center beam on top instead of underneath
Titan update: Titan is recuperating at New Bolton Center in a Becker sling and his blood work and liver enzymes are much better. We have come to the conclusion that titan was unable to write himself due to his muscles, being exhausted and void of enzymes allowing the muscles to work properly. The backer sling will allow him to rejuvenate without the constant stress of not being able to get up on his own. He has not tried to lay down yet with the sling on however he waited 24 hours to try to lay down prior to the first and second rescues. New Bolton Center, does not allow visitation once admitted (unless end of life visitation) so this will be the only video that I will be able to get other than me picking him up and taking him home. Very hard to leave him behind but he is in good hands and I will get daily updates.
Day 3 post surgery. Titan, dispute my best efforts of staying up all night with him, laid down and was unable to get up. Big thank you to Dr. Sarah Verghis, Little Fork Large Animal Rescue, Tommy Payne for his tractor for getting Titan on his feet. Once stabilized we transported him almost three hours to New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania. Thank you to Dan an Tracy Grady for following our trailer all the way down to New Bolton. Thanks to Sharon, Jenna, Bella, and Shelby that stayed behind to tend to the rest of horses. Big thank you to Dr. Gerry Auman for arranging his stay at New Bolton and coordinating his care. Once at New Bolton he is stable with better blood work and was placed in a sling with hoist to help him to his feet when needed. He was excused from the trials and tribulations of the last 3 days since his surgery. Titan at only four years old is defiantly a once and a time horse and worth the fight to save him. Everyone’s efforts today save him and I am eternally thankful and blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
This is our clydesdale, Titan, who had complications from surgery and the next morning he was unable to get up from lying down. Little fork volunteer technical large animal rescue in coordination with Loudoun county large animal rescue, Piedmont Equine, and Tommy Payne with his very large tractor were all able to save Titan. These rescue teams are 501C and run on donations. If anyone would like to donate, please see the link below.

Question: How many ladies does it take to get Boris photo shoot ready?
Answer: 5
Chester and his girls.
Quinceañera bomb proofing. I was asked to have professional pictures taken for a Quinceañera with Boris which are lovely, but very big dresses, so before I agreed, I had to check out to see if my horses would even even agree to the task. They all passed with flying colors. Titan came trotting up to see mom and Taylor took this photo. He looks the part of the medieval times. This is the only long dress I had to fit over the fluffy petticoat. It’s a medieval times Halloween costume. 🤦♀️

Of course, I didn’t get my manure drug in yesterday before the rain, so this is playtime for the boys.
Mach 23rd is Peaches 8th & Smoothie’s 15th Birthdays. Here’s a short video of their birthday party.
This morning I told Angel she was getting clipped since she was clean from her bath. This was her immediate response.
Ashley and Smooth It Over entered the Green Hunter 2’6 division and due to low attendance in the Green Division she was added to the Working Hunter 3’ Division. They ended up third with a lovely 2nd round. Very proud that she stepped up at the last minute. Smoothie is such a willing horse. These two will make an amazing team.
