🥳We finally brought home 2 beef this week! 🐄🥩

If you noticed we didn't post about it right away, there's a reason: we currently have a waiting list and all beef was accounted for when we picked it up from the processor.

As a small farm, we only have a limited number of animals available each year, but rest assured that if you're on our list, we will contact you as soon as your name comes up. ⏰⏰ Additionally, if you are not on the list but you would like to be, please message our page and we will get you added!🙌🏼🙌🏼

Of course, we couldn't wait to try some ourselves, and we had steak for dinner last night. 🤤🤤 It was absolutely delicious! Nothing compares to knowing exactly where your food comes from and the care that went into raising it.

We've also spent the last two days putting every part to good use by making rich beef bone broth and rendering beef fat for cooking. We DO NOT sell the finished products, however if you've ever wanted to try making your own, we still have soup bones and beef fat available, while supplies last!!!

Now is the perfect time of year to get your beef bones and beef fat to render and make your tallow and broths!! Just in time for Christmas!

We have bags of beef soup bones and knuckles for $4 per pound!

We also have marrow bones which are awesome for all of our furry friend 🐶🐶 lovers!

See below for a great recipe on how to make your own broth as well as some good uses for the broth:

Making Bone Broth:
1. Roasting (Optional but Recommended):
Roasting the bones before simmering enhances the flavor of the broth.

2. Simmering:
Combine the bones with water, aromatics like onions, carrots, and celery, and herbs like bay leaves. Simmer for several hours, or even longer, to extract the most flavor and nutrients.

3. Skimming:
Regularly skim off any foam or impurities that rise to the surface during simmering to ensure a clear broth.

4. Cooling and Straining:
Once the broth is ready, cool it down and strain it to remove the bones and other solids.

Uses for Bone Broth:
• Soups and Stews:
Use it as the base for hearty soups and stews like beef stew, French onion soup, or even a simple vegetable soup.

• Sauces:
Bone broth can be reduced to create a rich, flavorful sauce for meats or vegetables.

• Dishes:
Incorporate it into dishes like risotto, paella, or even as a cooking liquid for grains like rice or quinoa.

• Drinks:
Some people enjoy sipping bone broth as a warm, comforting beverage, especially during colder months.
