We are not a hatchery. I am delighted to share my birds with other quail enthusiasts and breeders, but I am motivated by my own joy working with these critters and not popping out a bazillion of them. I just want to make strong pretty birds that I can hold in my hand --plethora of eggs are just a perk!
Why does this distinction matter? Maybe it doesn’t. But hopefully saying it “out loud” helps y’all understand how we do things here and the mindset behind where we’re coming from. My focus is creating well structured quality birds that are a pleasure to raise, productive and lovely to look at.

Not every plumage variety “breeds true.”
Heterozygous Blue and Fee for example will not produce 100% het Blue and Fee offspring. It’s just not how the genes work with a lot of colors, because the homozygous phenotype produces a different color. Please ask questions if you have them!
Queggs incubate at 99.5 F and 45% humidity for 14 days. At day 14, remove from egg turner and set on a grippy non-slick surface for hatch at 99.5 F and 50% humidity. I incubate 50% humidity from start to finish, but there will be a range in personal preferences. I recommend never going above 65% humidity at any point.
