My apologies there have not been eggs this past week!

A skunk 🦨 got into our coop and succeeded getting five of our chickens. Rightfully so, they’ve all been a bit spooked and stopped laying! πŸ˜” Our six year predator-free-spree caught up with us but we made the necessary repairs and have being going strong with no recent visits from our stinky friend. 😑🀞

That being said, I wanted to share some exciting news for the local kiddos! We will be selling $10 DIY painting craft kits! These will most likely be available by this weekend so keep an eye out.

Added some new β€˜teens’ from The Rose Feather Coop to our flock!! We got super lucky and were able to bring home some gorgeous girls from their final hatch this summer!!

The good news: They are wonderful people and take so much pride in raising beautiful birds for us backyard chicken enthusiasts!

The bad news: They are located DANGEROUSLY close to us!! All of 5 minutes down the road! 🀣

This little lady just needed to be told she’s beautiful and was instantly camera ready 🀣 (not even kidding, before that she wasn’t having it)!

I’ll share pictures of the others once they settle in a bit more.

I’m thinking about making some $10 grab and go mini Craft Kits to add to the stand (perfect for those rainy day family / cute couple activities)! They would include 1-3 hand poured plaster figurines and all the supplies needed for you to paint and or decoupage!

Alright, we’re gonna need a totally rad name for this funny looking teenager with a full on MOP on top! Drop some creative name ideas below! πŸ‘‡

We’re 80% sure she’s a hen but open to all name suggestions regardless of its gender! Hubby has a track record of naming our hens with boy names…. πŸ˜† So, bonus points awarded for silly goofy funny name ideas!!

Labeled as an Easter Egger from Meyer Hatchery, she’s definitely an interesting mix!! πŸ’– She had a bit of a traumatic/difficult time hatching and it required me to meticulously manually extract her after being suctioned/stuck inside her egg for over 24 hrs. She was truly the β€œrunt of the litter” but to see her doing so well is so rewarding! She’s 7 weeks and appears to be a surprise mixture of different breeds, making her a unique addition to our main flock!

If you asked me 10 years ago - I’d never imagine I’d be enjoying a homesteading lifestyle, raising chickens, and gardening. I’m excited to share my passion with my community and I take great pride providing you high quality nutrient dense eggs and handmade egg holders to display your farm fresh eggs!

Shoutout to my husband Patrick who built this stand and always supports my passions by creating my crazy ideas on a whim. (This includes him building TWO chicken coops and a hen run!)
