Card shower for Mike anyone? It would cheer him up to know we are thinking of him. He has been in hospital on and off since Dec 31, this time almost a month.
Yesterday they moved him to SELECT SPECIALTY HOSPITAL, still within the Riverside campus. A program designed to aid the recovery of critically ill patients,a stepping stone towards rehab, then hopefully strong enough to resume Chemotherapy. He is very depressed, and rightly so, we as a family are united in fighting for every possible treatment for him.

An update on my hero.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who signed the card in the shop. It moved him to tears, knowing you are all thinking of him.
It has been such a frightening journey for the whole family…and continues. Mike has been through so much since NYE. It has been one thing after another slowly eroding our confidence. However, I made it very clear this week, to his medical team, neither, Mike, myself or our children are ready to quit, so they need to give us options and hope. That got the fire relit under their bums and things began to happen, we have moved from ‘nothing more we can do’, to ‘let’s try this’, so… he is now on dialysis, and as I type, he is receiving radiation. Today saw some improvement in his kidney function finally. Also today they are moving him out of ICU/critical care. Our goal now is to get him strong enough so his oncologist can resume chemotherapy, to attack the bladder cancer, in the hope of removing the bladder and the left kidney.
We have a long road yet to travel so keep sending healing vibes Mikes way.

Greetings everyone, Mike is still in the hospital , so once again we will be unable to open on Friday or Saturday. I was planning on being available tomorrow, but Mike is having a procedure in the morning, I need to be there with him.

The good news… I am meeting with a very nice couple, early next week, I think they are very willing to help. So after a few days training with Cris and me, hopefully by next weekend they will be comfortable enough to cover, then things will return to normal hopefully. Also Pauline is back from her visit home, I intend to touch base with her over the weekend, I believe she is willing to sub when needed also.

Thank you all for your patience, we are really trying to keep the shop open, rather than close it, it has been in Hampton for over 30 years. We would like it to stay. Your patience, understanding and loyalty are much appreciated by Mike and and myself.

Mike has been so touched by the avalanche of good wishes, thank you all. ❤️

Our sincere apologies to all who came to shop today. I heard someone drove from Richmond. 😢
Mike was rushed into hospital last night, he had a very high fever, which for someone undergoing chemo is life threatening. He has sepsis. Looking better today, hoping he will be discharged tomorrow, and definitely before his birthday next week.
We are trying hard to keep you all updated on the hours. Sometimes life gets in the way. Again, sincere apologies.
