Our everyday health sometimes takes an army of support especially as we age! Read this post if you have issues with sleep - recovery - muscle aches - back issues - pain - bulging discs and any interest in expanding play time with your dog!
If you have One or more ailments on this list - I have a solution and can testify it works!

My fitness goals these days aren’t always to win or podium at a race anymore
(although I do miss those days),
it’s to have FUN, stay healthy, active and strong for ourselves and those closest to us (even our furry family members that love to play with us)!

I LOVE my pups and opportunities to share experiences with them and friends/family that share the same passion for the sports I love.

The ski jouring event at the Loppet this past weekend was a hoot with my bestie Ole, his bearded cousin Oakland & brother-in-law (aka Dr Tom )
We got last place in the 10k but honestly we had so much fun! Our dogs were smiling the entire time! I am still laughing at Dr Tom catching an edge or tangle in a rope and laying in the ditch (4 separate times) and his dog Oakland and Ole looking at him saying “can we please get going?🤣

Anyone with a dog reading this should try this! Even the little ones can do this with or without an event. But you should learn to Nordic ski first! We live in Minnesota so why not embrace a beautiful snowy winter & the endless outdoor activities.

Sometimes a cortisone shot is what is needed to calm some unwanted pain. Dr Dave Schulz is the best! Visit him or his brother Peter at the Edina location.
Again, It’s important that your pain Doc also lives a life promoting health & fitness. We are going to be heli skiing with Dr Dave yet this year. He’s in great shape. He is a Beautiful skier!

ONE TIME IS FOREVER!!!

Sometimes you have to be your own health advocate and find solutions to long term pain caused by bulging discs.
I had the best experience with an Intracept procedure for which Summit staff campaigned with my health insurance to cover 9 months before the procedure. We won and it was covered.
Read up on Intracept and Dr Ekstrom.
I basically have no more pain in my lower back from this procedure.

Again, It’s important that your surgeon also lives a life promoting health & fitness. Dr Ekstrom is an avid Nordic skier & cyclist. He thought I was a perfect candidate for Intracept.
The goal was to be able to ride my mountain bike within a week of the surgery. He promised I could and I did!
