Say whaaattttt?! At the recent VCBG award ceremony, Russ’s “Bergluft” Munich Helles took GOLD in the state of Virginia for PALE EUROPEAN LAGER! But wait, that’s not all…. Matt’s “Gone Bush” Australian Sparkling Ale took SILVER in the PALE ALE category!!

Our little Nost Brewing (side) Project is sure making some waves 😎

🚨 New Release!! 🚨

Matt has been a part of our brew team for quite a while now, and we are excited to announce his promotion to BREWER! His first beer in this new official position was a special collaboration between Matt and his visiting “guest brewer”—his dad Bruce, a proud Aussie and mug club member! Fueled by classic Aussie rock, the two crafted this batch with heart, humor, and a nod to home.

Gone Bush – Australian Sparkling Ale
5.1% ABV

Brewed with a balanced mix of malt, fruity esters, and vibrant hop character, this light-bodied ale delivers a refreshing, crisp finish with a spritzy mouthfeel thanks to its elevated carbonation. At the heart of this beer is the classic Australian hop—Pride of Ringwood—sourced straight from Australia to bring authentic flavor and a subtle earthy-citrus bite.

Why “Gone Bush”? In Aussie slang, it means heading into the wilderness or disappearing for a while—often to reset, escape the noise, or reconnect with nature. We think this beer does just that: it takes you off the beaten path and into something refreshingly different. Whether you’re soaking in the sun or just needing to mentally check out, Gone Bush is your sparkling ticket to a laid-back Aussie state of mind.

We’re excited to introduce a new addition to our Nost Brewing Project this weekend, further enhancing the traditional flavors we’re carefully crafting for this line. Meet “ALGOS” an American Rice Lager (4.5%)—a perfect complement to the already beloved “Nostos.”

The name ALGOS was chosen to complete the harmony between our lagers. Both Nostos and Algos are Greek root words that together encapsulate the concept of “nostalgia,” with each representing a different facet of the emotion: Nostos signifies the return, while Algos embodies the longing and yearning to return. We invite you to experience the crisp, refreshing qualities of “Algos” and encourage you to enjoy it alongside “Nostos” for a full appreciation of both brews.

2024 is already bringing some changes to our little brewery, and at the end of this month we’ll be saying goodbye to our Lead Brewer .kid.on.the.block. Jack’s chill vibes, witty humor, eclectic knowledge of all things music, and serious dedication to the craft are going to be missed more than he knows. The way our Nost Brewing Project has blossomed under his hand has been a beautiful thing to behold, and we’re definitely going to miss his ongoing inspirations for that beer program!

Even though we’re sad to be losing this amazing member of our team, the good thing is he’s not going too far… You’ll soon find him in his new brewer position at our good friends’ brewery — !!! You better believe there will be a lot of collabs in our two breweries’ futures 😍

Best of luck on your new position Jack. We’ll miss you and we love ya like crazy. Don’t forget about us! 🍻 CONGRATULATIONS
