🌲Why are you sold out of Christmas Trees already?
🌲Did you know it takes 7 to 10 years to grow a Christmas Tree on our Iowa farm?
The Carlson Tree Farm is all about the family experience of enjoying old fashioned FUN on the farm! We have seen a huge increase in business because of that!! The kids & adults love running around our 17 acres, while enjoying a scavenger hunt, playing fetch with our dogs & cuddling with kittens! Making priceless holiday memories while on the Tree Farm is the BEST PART of getting a Christmas Tree! Each year, we determine before the season starts how many trees we can sell without cutting into the next year's crop! So yes, you still see trees in our fields, but those will be our crops for 2023, 2024, 2025 & beyond!
We have been bringing in about 100 precut trees from another tree farm to supplement what we can grow on our farm & allow our growing customer base to get a tree too. Yes, it is harder for us to get those precut trees due to environmental reasons in some areas of the US.
We enjoy the size of the Christmas Tree Farm we are because we like knowing your name & sharing conversations with our Tree Farm Family Friends!
Think about this...
If we were to expand with more land. After we plant the 1st crop of trees, it would be 7 to 10 years before we would be able to harvest the trees as Christmas Trees! Long range planning!
So for our 3 Generation Family Farm, the 17 acres we currently grow trees on make us VERY HAPPY!
So if you caught the KCCI story about our tree farm, they missed a VERY LARGE portion of why we are sold out of trees already for 2022!

In true Hallmark style, there was a marriage proposal on the 🌲Christmas Tree Farm today! She said YES! 💍
At the Carlson Tree Farm there is always a scavenger hunt for wooden blocks with letters to spell a word so, today Wes thought it would be fun to create his own wooden blocks to spell out....MARRY ME! We were thrilled he thought of our farm to propose to his beautiful girlfriend!

We are ❤️ing the RAIN in North Iowa today!
Did you know that October is a great month to move a tree from our farm to your yard? We still have availability so message us today or give us a call to come pick out a tree to have moved. The leaves are just beautiful on the trees now!! So many yellows & bright reds!
Shearing trees time at the farm! Today we had a shearing party!
When pulling pinecones got a bit boring the girls decided it was time for some music & dancing while they worked. Later on in the day we might have had a pinecone fight kinda like a snowball fight too!

Immanuel UCC Church in Latimer received a Sycamore tree this weekend. Ben, Dennis & Mike planted it with the tree spade Saturday then God took care of the watering on Sunday morning.

Willow is the Mama to 8 AKC Purebred Lab Pups. Sophie is the Grandma. Mama Willow has been doing an AMAZING JOB but Sophie decided she wanted to help & also started producing milk. So both Willow & Sophie are now feeding the 8 pups! They are VERY HEALTHY CHUNKY PUPPIES! We wondered what role Grandma Sophie might play in Mama Willows 1st litter of puppies & now we know!!! We love our Christmas Tree Farm Labs!!! #labpuppies #christmastreefarm #onelittertwomamas #twomamasfeedingpups

Here is the secret the Sophie has been keeping...she has been promoted to Grandma Tree Farm Dog! Sophie's Son Hunter (Chocolate Lab) & our Willow (Chocolate Lab) became puppy parents for the 1st time today to 8 BEAUTIFUL Lab Puppies! And for the 1st time on our farm we have 3 Silver Labs in the litter! Listen to their little noises!!!

I love our friendly farm cats at the Carlson Tree Farm! Last week 1 even went to Murphy's Heating & Plumbing in the service truck! Lucas was nice enough to return her...lol!
