Cool fact; When They found the famous Ice man relic frozen in the snow he had these for carrying an ember of fire. 🔥

Afternoon comment

Pretty amazing what 30 to 40 mph winds can do to trees when leafed out.

Obviously we rarely see tropical storms around here.

The reason they represent such a threat is simple.

Imagine what sustained 50 mph winds with gusts to 80 mph would do to our trees in summer.

Our forest has changed and grown exponentially across New England since the 1960s.

Saturday noon

Quite a mess out there in North Hampton NH this morning lost power for 2 hours.

My greenhouse was lifted off its foundation - and well in bad shape.

Around 4 am we had one hell of a gust.

Should wind down in the next couple of hours.

Friday afternoon update

The weekends have been miserable and I do feel empathy for all the hard working folk who deserve a couple nice days off.

Right now we remain in bad timing.

Even June 6 and 7 are trending toward a wet signal, at least for Saturday.

Amazing to have LP drop from the arctic circle right to the NH Seacoast.

Above 2k feet expect snow tomorrow very early.

Expect 1 to 3 inches of rain with the max showing up either side of the Maine and NH border.

Expect some decent wind gusts tomorrow morning as well.
