Well, we have another new "thing" happening on the farm. This little chick is from our recent incubator batch and has what are called "splayed legs." đŸ¤ĻđŸģ‍♀ī¸ guess what I learned how to do?...... make a brace out of a hair tie and cut straw. The internet says that this can be fixed in about 5-7 days. Always something new! Let's all say a prayer this one makes it. 11 other babies came out happy and healthy.

If you'd like pasture raised, farm fresh eggs, we've got you covered. We have about 10 dozen in the farmstand right now. We are thinking we may need to extend our hours into the week. Will keep everyone informed when we decided what our spring/summer schedule will be! For now, the self serve stand is open saturday and sunday 9am to 5pm.

Our first incubation experience wasn't very successful. We started with 12 eggs and ended up with only 4 healthy chicks. The system we purchased would not read temp and humidity correctly and we had a hard time regulating the environment. We've borrowed a new incubator from a friend to test out their equipment. Let's do this one more time! Starting with 22 and goooooooooooo! 🐤đŸĨđŸĨšđŸ”❤ī¸

Our little one is finally eating on her own, but only egg yolks at this point. She hasn't grown at all. 😭 The splints came off today, but will have to be put back on. The curled toes only show about 50% improvement. Physical therapy started today. đŸ¤Ŗ She gets her own space today as the other chicks have doubled her size, and we fear they may trample her. This little trooper better live! ❤ī¸â¤ī¸â¤ī¸
