🌿 It’s time to plant māmaki! 🌧️🌱

Today we gave our young māmaki plants a new home in the soil — a small but powerful step in reconnecting with native Hawaiian healing traditions. This is one of my favorites at the Hāna Farmers Market

This native Hawaiian plant is traditionally used in lāʻau lapaʻau (herbal medicine) and is caffeine-free. The tea made from its leaves is known to:
✔️ Support immune health
✔️ Help regulate blood pressure
✔️ Aid gentle detox and digestion
✔️ Strengthen circulation
✔️ Provide antioxidants + minerals

It’s truly a gift from the ʻāina 💚

We’ll be harvesting in the coming months to share fresh and dried māmaki with our community — both at the market and in future tea bundles. For now, we’re letting the rain, sun, and ʻāina do their magic.

🌺 Do I have a Sunrise 🌅 or Sunset 🌇 Papaya?
Check out my blog: HanaLokahi.com/blog to see a description of each and help me know. We are so excited to see them all growing. Our papaya tree is fruiting beautifully here at Hāna Lōkahi Farms, and I’m wondering… is it a Sunrise or a Sunset variety?

The fruit is long, red-fleshed, super sweet, and smells amazing when ripe. I thought it might be a strawberry papaya at first, but it’s much larger than expected.

We’re so excited to share that three sweet little ducklings have joined our farm ʻohana here in Hāna, Maui!

They’re already waddling around the garden, splashing in puddles, and bringing so much joy to our days. But here’s the fun part — they don’t have names yet, and we’d love your help!
