What you see is more than just a plate of cookies. It represents tradition, respect and most of all LOVE. Nothing was wasted in my mother's kitchen. When there were scraps of pie dough left she would collect them, roll the up with cinnamon & sugar and serve them as cookies we called pinwheels. This was something passed down from generations.
When I brought my husband to a holiday meal he was almost giddy to see these.... what his family and now ours (including my mom) call TOOCHIES. I decided to take that tradition and give it a style of my own. Not using scraps but making the dough just for the love of the cookie it becomes. I'm still going to call it a Toochie but with my own flair. I'm pretty sure some of you have your own names for these beauties, I'd love to hear them and your stories behind them.
Come up and get some before they're gone, I know they won't last long.
