Downeast Fiber Farm

Downeast Fiber Farm We are a small farm on the Coast of Downeast Maine. We work with sustainable methods, with a hands on approach in all that we do. Jack and Jill.

Our Rambouillet sheep thrive on natural forage and locally produced natural hay. Our herd is allowed as much freedom as possible to live as nature intended for them to live. They are free to move about the pastures and have access to several barns should they choose. The herd is guarded and protected by our four Great Pyrenees, Max and Clifford the Girl. We strive to produce fine clean fibers f

rom our sheep. We harvest and process their beautiful fleece to make them ready for spinning or already spun into wonder handspun yarn. All of our fiber cleaning is done locally, at a small local fiber mill for processing into roving or batt. We do our own dying using organic dyes. All the handspun yarns are done on the farm by Hatie. We sell most of our yarns at the shows we attend, from our website and directly from the farm. Hatie will also be glad to custom design fiber products, spin wool or craft exotic blends ...Just ask! Private and group lessons for spinning felting and dyeing are available.

I'm doing my best at no mow May as you can see from my garden being so over grown. I had to let the girls out to tidy up a bit. They are environmentally friendly.
