What we’re about to share is news we’ve been holding on for what feels like forever, and honestly, many of you may have already heard.

The owners of the Dublin General Store, Andy and Michelle Freeman have retired and have entrusted us to continue on. We congratulate them on an amazing 24 years in business, and wish them all the best in the next chapter of their lives. Because of them, we’re starting off with a strong customer base and an amazing staff you know and love. Dub Gen is a huge staple of this community, and we know we have big shoes to fill.

In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be expanding our local options, bringing in fresh produce and flowers for sale, and will continue to provide you with the experience you’ve come to expect. We can’t wait to see you.

A rainy Saturday morning is perfect for building a new mushroom grow area.
🍄‍🟫
We’ve been experimenting with shiitake logs for a few years, and decided to expand into blue oysters and wine caps.
🍄‍🟫
The wood chips and logs came from trees close to our house we recently had taken down.

If you have experience growing fun guys, drop it in the comments!

This guy brightens every room, works harder than anyone I know (except maybe me 🤪), is generous, and kind, and SO MANY other things that make him the perfect partner for me. Great things are coming our way this year 😚

Join me in wishing Tyler a happy birthday. 🎊🎂🎉🎁🎈

Do as we say, not as we do. 😬

Is it pretty easy to fold up silage tarps and store them away before the season ends? Probably.

Do we pretty much always leave them crumpled up near the edge of a field so voles have a warm place to hide all winter? Yes, that’s most likely where they’ll be. I’M JUST BEING HONEST 😂

Dragging tarps across the farm while full of ice, water, mud, and vole nests is not fun, but we always do it. Today, Tyler hooked one to the back of the tractor and brought it over to a field that has cover crop that needs smothering. Bingo.

We took a trip down memory lane last week during a quick trip to Chicago. Our first garden together was a 4x8 foot plot at , (behind us in the first photo) where we grew a lot of food for two people.
🥕
We’ve come a long way since then, but it was fun digging through old photos and realizing how integral growing food has been throughout our whole relationship. New experiences, new tattoos, and lots trial and error have lead us to where we are today.

Looking forward to new challenges this season 💗🫣😂

If you’re wondering what’s up with our house…

🌳 We bought this land in 2021. It was a full forest and had never had a permanent structure or plumbing.
🪠 We spent over a year clearing the land. Then paid as we could for a driveway, foundation, professional tree clearing, site work, septic, a drilled well, plumbing, and electric.
⚡️ We have lived in the lower level (I refuse to call it a basement) since November 2023.
🔨 After taking almost a full year away from building for Tyler surgery and the farming season last year, we’re in turbo mode to get it completed by the fall. THIS FALL.

Admittedly, looking back, we may have been doing too much for a few years, but here we are. Finishing our home is our top priority. We’re here working on it every extra minute that our bodies can stand it after working other full-time jobs and trying to still have a life!

Things will look a little different this year as we shift our focus. 🧘‍♀️

We carved RICH in the concrete floor of the propagation house we built in 2021. It’s our name, but it’s also a reminder everyday that we are rich in so much. Our heath, in love, and in opportunity.
☀️
Excited to have these doors open again. Today feels like spring. LFG.
