At 73 years of age, you don't get to have to many 1 year anniversaries any more. But today is the date we moved from the family farm a year ago. The one that I had lived on since I was a baby, to our new house and retirement.
Still making trips once in awhile to the farm to sell equipment both cattle and farm machinery. Still have a ways to go on that, but making progress.
Talking to a friend, a little younger than than me yesterday, he said their social activities involve going to the doctor, and I told him, that's the same at our place. Pretty much like old machinery, it's in the repair shop more than out being used. That costs a lot, but thank goodness for medicare for us humans.
Haven't missed the work, the cattle, the worry if a storm is coming.
I have found out that getting on the lake is great therapy, takes the stress totally away.
So weaning me from the farm has gone pretty good, Connie is still amazed that I could walk away from cattle and the farm. I don't walk away very fast though, only as fast as old knees will carry me.
Enjoy looking for new eating places. I have enjoyed watching all of the NCAA basketball games, now that those are over, it's time to get on the boat.
