Filmed today's chores with one eye, the other one is currently swollen shut courtesy of a bee that decided my face was good real estate. Doesn't matter what shape you're in though, the cattle, sheep, pigs, and chickens still need breakfast. Here's a one-eyed tour of morning feeding time on the farm. Moral of the story: bees don't care about your schedule, and neither do hungry pigs.

Trevor is trying to clean the mud out of his water trough. Charles has other plans — namely, standing directly in the way the entire time.

Meet Cupid. 🐾

Cupid is our second Maremma livestock guardian dog — imported from Italy and currently living full time with our cattle here at Honey Glass Farm. She takes her job seriously. She also takes pets very seriously, as you can see.

After feeding Cupid, Trevor is watering the herd. We haul water to the cattle in a tank in the back of the truck. With 85 acres of rotating pasture and the herd constantly moving to fresh paddocks, hauling water is simply the most practical approach for our management system. The animals always have clean fresh water — it just travels to them rather than the other way around.

This is real farm life. Every day. Regardless of weather.
