A big accomplishment for our FSQA team! đź‘Ź

Earlier this week, representatives from USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) visited Central Valley Meat to provide training on the upcoming Ground Beef Guardian (GBG) Program, a nationwide initiative set for full implementation in February 2027.

CVM is proud to have been selected to participate in the program’s pilot phase. As part of the certification process, our team completed an 80-question technical exam, and all three passed on their first attempt!

Congratulations to Makenzie Flach, Andrea Leon, and Jacob Flores!

A special shoutout to Makenzie, our FSQA Manager, who earned the highest exam score recorded by the USDA AMS team to date, officially making her our “High Roller!”

We were honored to welcome USDA Under Secretary Dr. Mindy Brashears, Senior Policy Advisor Dr. Christine Alvarado, Dr. Ranftle, Dr. Abreu and Dr. Felix from the Alameda District Office, Dr. Dutton from the Hanford Circuit, and Dr. Darwish from the Fresno Circuit to Central Valley Meat today for a plant tour!

During the visit, Dr. Brashears also signed food safety banners for our team, highlighting our shared commitment to food safety throughout our facility.

Today, we were proud to be recognized with a $62,672 utility rebate through Southern California Gas Company’s Industrial STAR program for a successful energy efficiency project at our Hanford facility.

By insulating a 500,000-gallon hot water tank, we’ve significantly reduced heat loss, improved operational efficiency, and are expected to save approximately $100,000 annually in natural gas costs.
