Burke’s Hot Sauce was always bigger than a bottle. It was a community, a table of plenty, a reason to gather. These photos embody everything Burke’s was always meant to be — a garden full of fresh ingredients, a table covered in simple yet exquisite food, and our sauces paired with everything.

I have always loved hot sauce. It was the thing I sought out at every restaurant, every market, every trip. Long before Burke’s existed, it was already mine.

So when Kevin’s passion project landed in my lap during a pandemic with no place to go and everything to prove, I knew exactly what to do with it.

I wrote the business plan. I built the brand. I learned what it meant to bet on yourself when no one is asking you to.

What I didn’t expect was how much it would change me. A career woman who had spent years building things for other people finally got to build something of her own. From the ground up. From a kitchen counter to a full production space and taproom, from three SKUs to seven, from a local idea to something that earned recognition at the State House, landed on shelves at Logan Airport, and traveled in shipments all the way to the Pacific Islands.

And through all of it — the late nights, the long seasons, the hard calls — I had Kevin, my daughter, and a community of people who showed up for us again and again.

None of it would have meant anything without the people who showed up for us and for that, I am endlessly grateful.

With gratitude, on to the next adventure. 🚀

Over five years ago, Kevin took an interest in growing hot peppers from seedlings. At the time, we had no idea what we were really growing. The memories we made in this garden as a family will stay with us forever. It started as a passion project and somewhere along the way it became our whole story. We sowed seeds and harvested a future full of spice — Rooted in Love 🌶️

Looking back at these photos, I’m so grateful they exist. At the time I didn’t fully appreciate what was being captured — a season of our lives that would come to mean everything. To our photographer Maureen Ford , thank you for seeing us so beautifully in a moment we didn’t yet know was precious.

What a long, spicy trip it’s been. 🌶️

The time we could never prepare for has come. After 5-years of living and breathing this hot sauce journey, our days of being a hot sauce business are coming to an end.

When we started Burke’s Hot Sauce, we had a blender, a ridiculous amount of peppers, and a dream rooted in love — love for spice, for family, and for the community we get to call home.

What we didn’t expect was you.

The South Shore neighbors who showed up to our first market table. The customers who came back week after week, who gifted our sauce at holidays, who slid into our DMs to tell us we made the best hot sauce they ever had. The fellow hot sauce makers and spice lovers who welcomed us into a community we didn’t know we needed. You made this so much more than a business.

We poured everything we had into every bottle — small batch, fermented, fresh ingredients, our hands and a shared passion for spice. We’re so proud of what we built.
