Hello, Hanover!
We've officially been open for 70 days and couldn't be more appreciative of the support from our new community. As new business owners here in Hanover, we've been so grateful to work with town hall on our plans for 965 Washington Street. We are currently gathering signatures here at Outer Isles to support Hanover Conservation + Hanover Board of Health's co-sponsored Right to Farm Bylaw to be added to the this Fall's Special Town Meeting's Warrant.
Surrounding towns such as Norwell, Pembroke, Marshfield and Duxbury have all voted to adopt the Commonwealth's Right to Farm in their communities. For Hanover, adopting the Right to Farm Bylaw will allow the town to put together an agricultural commission that would be able to implement regulations to protect our natural resources such as access to safe water, educate the community on growing and sourcing local foods, and put systems in place for residents to raise livestock etc.
If you're into knowing where you food comes and being an active participant in local farming, come on through to our Tiny Fancy Food shop this weekend, say hi and sign our petition to get the Right to Farm Bylaw added to town warrant to be voted on this fall - grab a Basil Lemonade and savor a Donut Peach just picked from two towns over!
