Fall fruit has officially arrived 🍇🍂

Meet the muscadine grape, a Southern favorite and a fruit native to Virginia! These aren’t your typical grocery store grapes. Muscadines have a thick skin, big seeds, and a sweet, jelly-like center that makes them a true late-summer-to-fall treat.

Never had one? This is your sign to try something new!

Muscadine season is here, and there’s plenty more fall fruit on the way 🍎🍐

While I was in Virginia for TBEX Events North America, I had the opportunity to do a tour of three farms in visithanoverva, Virginia. I got to visit three farms in Hanover County, Agriberry Farm and CSA, Freckled Flower Farm and Thistledew Fold Farm, providing unique opportunities or experiences to their customers and communities. Agriberry Farm & CSA • VA Berry Farm and CSA is a second generation family owned farm that grows raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries to sell in farmer’s markets around the DMV area and in their half-season and full season CSA. TheFreckledFlowerFarm is a fresh cut flower farm that is a hub for community gathering and creativity. Thistledew Fold Farm gives people the opportunity to get up close to a cow, especially if they have never been close to one before.

The sweetest little melons of summer 🍈

Our Sugar Cube cantaloupes may be small, but they’re packed with juicy, candy-sweet flavor that keeps people coming back year after year.

Every Sugar Cube has one very important job before it makes it to market: survive its flight. 😅 During harvest, each melon gets tossed down the row until it reaches the trailer. No melons were harmed in the making of this harvest.

They’re only around for another 2–3 weeks, so grab a few at our farmers markets or farm store before the season flies by!

This cool weather is a gift! Red raspberries are flourishing in these temperatures, with more berries on the plant than we can pick for the weekend markets. If you’re free this Saturday morning (7/25), come out to the farm for an impromptu red raspberry Pick Your Own event.

The fields will be open from 9 am - 11 am with a special price of $20 per bucket! No need to RSVP, simply show up and we’ll take care of you from there.

We accept cash, card, and tap. Please plan to wear waterproof shoes, as the ground will be dewy. We’ll see you out on the farm! 💜

‼️Pick-Your-Own Update‼️

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday’s Pick-Your-Own event due to the extreme heat and current field conditions.

Your safety is our top priority, and we don’t want anyone spending extended time in the fields under these temperatures. The heat has also been tough on some of the fruit, and we want every visit to the farm to offer the quality picking experience you deserve.

All ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund. We are hopeful we’ll be able to reschedule later in July and will share updates if that becomes possible.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue navigating the challenges this season’s weather has brought. 💜

Farming teaches us to pay attention.

To ripe fruit, changing seasons, and sometimes, to a hot air balloon quietly drifting across the morning sky.

A small reminder that there’s beauty woven into the everyday, if we’re willing to look for it. 🎈

PEACHES ARE HERE! 🍑

Summer fruit season just got a whole lot sweeter. If your first peaches of the season are holding tight to the pit, that’s because they’re clingstone or semi-clingstone varieties. Later in the summer we’ll see more freestone peaches that pop right off the pit.

But for now? We’re just excited to be eating peaches again.

After a spring that kept us waiting, there’s nothing better than seeing those first juicy peaches of the season hit the stands. Grab them while they’re here, summer has officially arrived! ☀️
