Y’all, BIG NEWS for this Sunday’s Yoga on the Farm! 🧘‍♀️With our U-pick gardens winding down for the season, we’re swapping flower picking for PUMPKIN ARRANGING!

Instead of our traditional U-pick, we’re prepping adorable white faux pumpkins to serve as vases for a special fall bloom bar on the covered porch! You’ll create your very own pumpkin floral arrangement to take home after a relaxing yoga session on the farm.

Nothing says fall in South Carolina quite like a trip to the State Fair!

From the food to the farm animals, what better way to spend a gorgeous fall Friday?! And y’all KNOW I was going to find the cows! 🐄

But the real star of the show? THE DUCK SLIDE! 🦆Consider it officially added to the list of must-haves for the next phase of Helena Hills Farm. Because apparently I need ducks AND a slide now.

I absolutely loved exploring the marketplace filled with South Carolina-made goods. So many talented local farmers, makers, and artisans doing incredible things right here in our state. You know I’ll always jump at the chance to support them!

And the FOOD. We ate our weight in fair favorites—cheese curds, pulled pork, and my beloved tomato pie. Then somehow found room for cookie butter soft serve AND a cinnamon roll. No regrets.

Good food, adorable animals, local treasures, and a whole lot of inspiration to bring home to the farm.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a gorgeous autumn Sunday than surrounded by flowers, friends, and a whole lot of love!

We hosted our very first Garden Tea Open House at Helena Hills Farm, welcoming local community and club leaders, event planners, and activity coordinators for a sneak peek at our 2027 workshop portfolio and farm expansion plans!

Our guests spent the afternoon wandering the gardens, exploring everything from fresh floral arranging and pressed flowers to botanical art, gardening, seasonal workshops, and culinary experiences. There were sweet treats, beautiful conversations, new connections, and so many exciting ideas for bringing people together on the farm in the year ahead.

But what made today truly special was the incredible community of women who helped bring it all to life.

My Garden Guild. 🤍

Weeks of preparation. Flower arranging. Delicious baked goods. Decorating. Setting up. Welcoming guests. Sharing stories about the farm. Selling in the retail shop. Cleaning up. And SO MUCH MORE.

I genuinely don’t know what I’ve done to deserve this kind of love and support. These women have become like family. They believe in me, they believe in this little flower farm, and they give so generously of their time, talents, and energy to help turn my big dreams into reality.

When I started Helena Hills Farm, I imagined growing beautiful flowers, creating memorable experiences, and building something special on this little piece of land.

What I never could have imagined was the community that would grow alongside it.

And that has been, without question, the greatest joy of this entire journey.

To every guest who joined us today, thank you for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and encouragement. I can’t wait to see what we create together in 2027!

And to my Garden Guild, there simply aren’t enough words. This farm may have started as my dream, but you’ve helped make it something so much bigger than me.

We’re growing so much more than flowers here. We’re growing friendships, community, and something truly beautiful. 🤍

Some of you may know this, but some of you may not. This flower farmer has absolutely no farming background.

I went to school for business in the Bronx and somewhere along the way, I fell in love with growing things in the dirt here in South Carolina.

I think I need this little reminder now more than ever. After a long, hot, dry summer, the gardens are looking tired. The pests and diseases have taken over, and it’s hard to see past what’s struggling to remember just how much beauty has grown here.

But then I look back at these photos from the past season, and I’m reminded that this farm wasn’t built in a day, or even a season. Its beauty has grown little by little, year after year, right alongside me.

We’ve grown. I’ve grown. And I’m so incredibly proud of this journey.

The more time I spend on the farm, the more I realize this little piece of land is beautiful even when nothing is blooming. And I’m reminded of that in the simplest ways, every single day.

I still have so much to learn, so much to plant, and so many dreams for this place. And I can’t wait to keep sharing it all with you.

But for now, let’s glance back at some of the beautiful blooms we’ve grown, appreciate how far we’ve come, and hold a little hope for all that’s still to come. 🤍

It’s about dang time, fall has officially arrived at the farm! 🍁

Our tiniest pumpkin patch is open, the cutest basket arch is ready for photo ops, and the farm is dressed in all its autumn glory! 🌻

One of my favorite things about hosting workshops and events is sharing the peace and serenity of this little slice of heaven. Come slow down, get creative, make a new friend, and enjoy a little time away from the hustle and bustle.

Our first fall festival of the season and was it a blast! 🍂🌻🎃 With my incredible Garden Guild crew by my side, the weather holding steady, and so many wonderful friends stopping by to show their support, the Habersham Harvest Festival was truly one to remember!

I loved sharing our booth with my fairy flower godmother Sue of Gifts from Her Garden, showcasing her stunning botanical artwork alongside our fresh flowers and fall creations.

And oh my goodness, the FLOWERS! 🌸 We had beautiful blooms from my farm, Sue’s garden, and Wild Goose Flower Farm in Moncks Corner, including her absolutely STUNNING dahlias! I’m so grateful for fellow flower farmers like Alexis, who work tirelessly to grow gorgeous, locally grown blooms.

What I love most is that after all the prep and schlep, I’m not drained— I’m re-energized, inspired, and incredibly grateful.

Grateful for the friendships, the collaboration, the laughter, and the overwhelming love this community continues to show my little farm. Every purchase, kind word, familiar face, and new connection means more than you know. 🤍

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to help bring together local farmers, growers and educators for USCB OLLI’s Cultivating Connections: Flowers, Food & Sustainability in the Lowcountry.

We explored our local agricultural community from several perspectives: Zack Snipes with Clemson Extension shared the trends, challenges and opportunities facing Lowcountry agriculture; Sammie Brown of D & S Plantation spoke about agricultural heritage, conservation and responsible land stewardship; Carin Sherman, SC Master Gardener & Master Naturalist, connected native plants with biodiversity, wildlife and pollinators; Jennifer & Roel Harsta of Hardee Greens shared the story of growing food locally through specialty agriculture; and I had the pleasure of sharing the Helena Hills Farm journey—from a little community garden plot to flower farming, agritourism and the incredible community that has grown around the farm.

And the learning doesn’t stop in the classroom! This week, OLLI participants will get to take what we discussed into the field with visits to Helena Hills Farm and D&S Plantation to experience two very different Lowcountry farms firsthand.

One of my favorite parts of agriculture is how much we can accomplish when we share knowledge, support one another and create opportunities to connect our community with the people caring for and working the land around us.

Here’s to more collaboration with fellow farms, more agricultural education, and more programs like OLLI that keep us curious and learning at every age.
