Hello everyone!
We’ve received several questions about the current cyclosporiasis outbreak, so we wanted to share some information about how we grow and handle our products.
According to public health agencies, Cyclospora contamination is associated with produce that has come into contact with contaminated water or human waste during growing, harvesting, or processing. We encourage everyone to do their own research and stay informed as more information becomes available.
At Morning Harvest Produce, our lettuce and herbs are grown in a completely indoor, controlled environment. Our growing system is designed to minimize contamination risks, and we recently passed our USDA Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) audit with a perfect score.
We harvest our products ourselves and deliver directly to retail locations, reducing the number of handling steps between harvest and the store shelf. When you purchase Morning Harvest Produce, you can be confident your greens were grown in a clean indoor environment, carefully harvested by our team, and delivered by our staff.
As always, we appreciate your support of local agriculture. Please remember that there are many small local farms working hard to provide fresh, high-quality produce to their communities. Rather than avoiding all lettuce products, remember to consider supporting local growers you know and trust.
Thank you for supporting local food and local farmers!
