Gorgeous silver gray blanket! Shearing day is always fun, a lot of work, but enjoyable! Luke is our fantastic shearer from New Zealand! Alpacas are happy to get that 6” staple off, especially when we begin hitting the warmer weather. Our fiber is very high quality and sold off to designer co-ops. We buy back fiber from over 200 alpaca farms in the USA to support our award-winning pillow company.

Alpacas are sheared safely by using a pulley system to secure them during shearing. This is the best and safest way to shear. Our shearers are some of the best in the world and come from the top shearing team in New Zealand.

Look at the pics in the post below to see the actual process of making it a great shearing experience. There is an actual “Love” station where the alpacas are hugged while they wait their turn to go in and get sheared.
