It’s our favorite time of year! Time to get prepared for your seed starts. We recommend using a 50/50 mix of fine screened compost and worm castings to get your seeds started. Both items are available here at Woodland Worm Co. Our fine compost is 3/8 screened. New for this spring I will be offering a super fine 1/4” screened compost which is what we use for our starts. $5/bag. This will be a limited run. Red Wigglers are amazing composters and can help reduce your food waste footprint. 250 worms can consume about half a pound of food waste a week! What we do? What do we do? We compost our scraps first, then feed the compost to the worms. This helps keeps smells down to a minimum especially if your worm bin is indoors (like ours are). Feeding Pro tip: Make sure to burry your food scraps when you feed your worms if you are not composting.
