Having access to GRASS forage (hay and/or pasture) and movement are essential to good horse health, no matter the discipline.
Keeping these two aspects high on the list of my own domestic-horse keeping
has afforded me healthy horses for many years.
On my property are insulin resistant minis, a Cushings horse, cow-horses that are used to work our cattle..old horses, young horses, easy-keepers. All follow the same routine of rotational grazing (when safe) and otherwise a place to go” in search of food (which is the free-choice GRASS hay I raise and offer through nets). They move freely via a Track System along 4000 ft of fencing.
For each different horse I supplement with bagged feed and alfalfa pellets to finish out their individual nutritional needs.
See below what we at Twin Sycamore farms offer: affordable ($8 a bale) Grass hay, no weeds, no mold, acceptable protein levels. 40-45 lb bales. Analyses available.
