Tel & Tom Lindemann from Cost, Tx joined company CEO, Calan Ahrens out in Marathon the last couple days for a good old fashion elk hunt.
First evening they seen Tom’s bull from 700 yards and decided to get a closer look. They drove back around to where the bull was last seen, got on his track, and followed him down into the thick brushy creek. From there it was a bit of banter from Calan and him with bugles and cow calls. Tom made a great 170 yard shot on his bull, then the real work began in the dark packing him out!
Then it was Tel’s turn. After he shot a massive boar hog, Calan wanted to bugle in a few places and before he could finish his first bugle- Tel’s bull answered back immediately. Once they got into place and the bull worked some cows into an open field, Tel made a great 320 yard shot to close the casket.
Two great west Texas bulls and both very different experiences.
