1st State Livestock Jackpot Show

Exhibitors! Important barn and parking updates for this weekend-parking map attached. More details have been sent via email using the email address you provided at entry.

✔️ Parking- NO livestock trailer parking is allowed in the triangle behind the covered horse arena (Quillen) or anywhere west of the barns this year due to health department regulations. You will be forced to move if you are found parked there. Showing off of trailers is only allowed from the machinery lot. No trailers are permitted in the camping area. Empty trailers should be parked in the central camping/old DSF exhibitors parking lot.

✔️ Camping- Please pick up your camping information at check in. We are expecting a significant number of campers this year.

✔️ Beef are located in the Schabinger Barn and lambs/goats/pigs are located in the Kent Barn. This is switched from previous years so that showing off of trailers is as convenient as we can make it. We can no longer use the Quillen triangle to show off of trailers due to concerns of manure management and serving of food from this area for other fairgrounds events.

✔️ Barns open at 3:00 pm on Friday. Pens are available on a first come first served basis. No reserving of pens is permitted in advance.

✔️ All weigh cards are due no later than 8:00 am Saturday. Check in is available Friday night from 6-8:00 pm and again from 6-8:00 am Saturday.

✔️ Showmanship classes will be held if there is a conflict between rings but show staff must be notified in advance before the class is in the ring. Market classes will not be held. Another exhibitor can take the animal in the ring.

✔️ Shavings are not available on site. There are no automatic waters for pigs and you are expected to clean your pens before leaving. All used bedding should go to the manure bunks located on the side of the barns.

We are looking forward to hosting you in Delaware on May 16th! Our early entry deadline is fast approaching on May 8th. Late and added entries are accepted but at $50/head so enter now!

We'll be sharing some important information and updates in the coming days about changes to barn layouts and parking areas for our 2026 show so stay tuned!

Entries are open on Showman for our 28th year!

💥 New this year we have added wether dam divisions in our lamb and goat shows. Wether dans will show by weight only. Payouts will be $250 for grand and $150 for reserve on the wether dams.

💥 Entries must be received by midnight on May 8th for the $30/hd entry fee. Late and added entries are $50/hd.

Introducing our beef cattle judge Chris Wojciechowski from Middlebrook VA where he and his wife Carol are active in many facets of the Beef industry as well as maintain a small herd of registered Angus females.

Chris grew up in Maryland where he showed Angus steers and heifers thru 4-H as well as junior Angus Assoc. He attended Delaware Valley College where he received a bachelors degree in animal science.

After graduating Chris worked for several diverse operations from a family farm that included feeder calves being backgrounded to Herdsman for the Masonic Holmes of PA Purebred Shorthorn operation and as Executive Director of the Virginia Angus Association……. For almost the last 25 years he has spent as an independent consultant and marketing agent for both purebred and commercial operations.

“ What started with a pair of clippers from my 4-H days and a desire to go to cow shows” has turned into a full time life of everything cattle, while still helping to prep a few for shows and sales, a lot more energy is put towards helping buyers and sellers get connected and consulting new and established operations.

Blake Quiggins will be evaluating our lamb and goat entries this year. He resides in Horse Cave, Kentucky, where he and his fiancée operate Premier Club Goats and B.A.B. Boer Goats. Together, they manage approximately 500 mature does and flush 35 to 40 does annually.

They are committed to producing highly competitive market and breeding goats that are sold nationwide each year. Blake’s passion for the livestock industry began at an early age through his family’s beef cattle operation. He began exhibiting livestock at just five years old, participating in Kentucky’s first year of market goat shows.

Blake also assists customers across the United States with clipping and fitting beef cattle and goats at major livestock shows. In addition, he is the owner of Champion Show Supply, the Sullivan Supply dealer serving Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Blake has judged shows from coast to coast and truly enjoys working with young people in the livestock industry every day.

Mr. Terry Burks will be sorting pigs for our 2026 show.

Terry is a retired Professor of English Studies from Chifeng University in The People's Republic of China. Prior to that, he was employed by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture in the Division of Show and Fair Promotion where he served as the educational coordinator and worked as a federal livestock grader. Terry also worked as the herdsman for Beeler Farms swine and was the owner of Dynasty Club Lambs & Meat Goats.

He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in the area of Animal Science from Western Kentucky University. Terry has judged over 1400 shows in 43 states including state fairs in 29 states. He has also judged hundreds of county, regional and jackpot shows across the nation. Terry and his wife Alice live in Scottsville, Kentucy.
