Took the red dun mare team to a funshow last night in Auxvasse. Neither of these horses have done the ribbon race with toilet paper before and I think they killed it!

We weren’t fast by any means but they handled all aspects of this class like pros!

Gorgeous red wrapper mare (Reckless)

Grade 15.2h no chrome 17 years old small star patch (vet aged her at 13, I don’t believe that to be correct)

Broke to ride, being a red mare she tends to enjoy testing your boundaries.

Recommend intermediate to advanced riders

Cons: She is mouth sour, you cannot touch her mouth unless you really take your time messing with her, because of this we’ve only ridden in a halter or s-hack. She puts up a bit of a fight when loading into non-stock type trailers. She will load but you must be firm with her. Mildly buddy sour, she is very loyal friend.

Super friendly, easy to catch. She is one tough mare and you can see that with all the dings and scars on her. She does have a sarcoid that I’ve been treating with xxterra and it is starting to heal nicely and partial clouding in the right eye. Per vet it looks like she damaged her eye and didn’t actually genetically develop a blind eye. Stands for farrier and saddling.

She’s sound and up to date on coggins, vaccinations and dewormer.

It was a nice day for some riding.

PTO is broken on the tiller, have to wait for the new one to arrive before we can work the arena up again.

I rode Freya on my lunch break and this “heifer” done pulled a fast one on me and left me in the dirt. 👀
