Growing up here at Lane Family Farm in Harrison Valley, I’ve come to realize that this place is so much more than where we live ;it’s who we are. Every inch of this land holds a piece of our story, shaped by early mornings, long days, and a whole lot of heart.
Our days usually start before the sun fully rises. There’s something peaceful about that time; the quiet, the cool air, the sense that the world hasn’t quite woken up yet. But it doesn’t stay quiet for long. The animals need to be fed, chores need to be done, and there’s always something that needs fixing, tending, or checking on. It’s hard work, no doubt about it ;but it’s honest work, and it means something to us.
Being part of this family farm has taught us lessons you just can’t get anywhere else. We’ve learned patience from the seasons, resilience when things don’t go as planned, and gratitude for the good days that make the tough ones worth it. Everything we do is connected ;to the land, to the animals, and to each other.
I think sometimes people don’t fully see what goes into this kind of life. It’s not just fields and barns ;it’s sacrifice, commitment, and a deep sense of responsibility. But it’s also laughter around the dinner table after a long day, helping each other without having to ask, and knowing that what we’re building here matters.
We’re proud of what we do, and we’re proud of where we come from. Lane Family Farm isn’t perfect, and it isn’t always easy…..but it’s real. And if there’s one thing we hope people understand, it’s that behind every harvest, every animal, and every season, there’s a family putting their whole heart into it.
This farm is our life, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
