Just picked up another batch of raw beef suet from our local butcher! We've got a lot going on behind the scenes. Rendering down suet is not my favorite job in the world - but the end product makes it all worth it.

Currently have 3 different batches rendering, the first will be on its 4th render, the 2nd on its 3rd, and the last on its 1st - nobody said it was an easy job 😉. (Today's rendering went well over 6 hours 😵‍💫)

We've got quite a few whipped tallow recipes that are currently under wraps. But as soon as we get this fat rendered into tallow and get it whipped up and packaged, we'll have to keep those things a secret 🤫.

Look at these TINY spoon tomatoes we got from Baker Creek Seeds!

They are sweet, tiny, and incredibly juicy. While our garden is super full of vegetables, these spoon tomatoes plants are still bearing fruit like crazy. These have been awesome for salads 😋

Tried the Cold Process Oven Process (COPO) method for the first time! These are our Oats N' Honey bars - a great seller last season.

Tried them again but changed up the ingredients this time, added colloidal oatmeal instead of just ground, goat milk, raw honey, and used the COPO method.

Putting the loaves in the oven resulted in a caramelized honey scent - 100% natural as we forced the gel phase all the way through and got those natural sugars (honey and goat milk), to caramelize! And as you can see, that caramel color also carried through instead of being creamy white.

Super excited to try these out as the scent is pretty amazing. Will definitely be using the COPO method a few more times this soaping season ;)

Taking the girls out to forage before the cold really sets in. They are loving those trees!

Instead of just bulldozing our fenced in paddocks, we'll cut down trees several at a time everyday, to every three days. That gives the goats plenty to eat/forage all for free. I know a lot of folks with show goats like to give them plenty of alfalfa, hay, and grain.. But for us, while we do offer hay like that, like to also make the girls "work" for their food.

Also with it being breeding season and them soon to start carrying their kids, we like to make sure they aren't overly "fluffy". Make sure they are strong (specifically the older girls) and can carry large litters.

So get those steps in girls!

Definitely going to be turning this into some soap!

Surprisingly our soap bar, Persimmon Charcoal had been the most popular bar last month! So much so we only have a few left (made about 50 or so months back).

This bar is one of my personal favorites for a face soap - but ill wait to give it a proper introduction here soon.

In the mean time here is some freshly blended wild persimmon puree. 100% Wild Harvested. We never water those wild fruit trees - the rain takes care of that. Never spray the trees nor its fruit. Lol we kinda just forget the trees are even there until fall when the branches are loaded with fruit - a blessing indeed.

We had an amazing week camping.
We were able to spend time with our family, meet new family, and overall, just be able to just take a breath of fresh air - without the farm work, regular work, and livestock constantly taking over. Of course we love the farm - the chores/work/livestock etc have been a blessing. But it's always nice to take a step back and remember why it is we are here in the first place. - and to see what else the Father has planned for us.

Now we are once again playing catch up and prepping for the oncoming winter ahead. We have a lot of really neat announcements but until they are in motion, we'll have to keep it in suspense 😉.
