Red has been in solitary since Thursday, when Achilles went to his new home.

Rusty is pretty chill, so in with his dad he went.

No one is happy.

For people who hate the heat, WomenOfACertainAge, or me, who is both....

Chores in the heat can be abysmal. I got one of these cold gel things, and it has helped me SO MUCH. I wear it like a back pack, and am considering getting a second one to wear on my front.

Where I got it is down below.

There is no reason on this planet that vermin should be this
That first ran over my foot, and I herded the other one back under the shed they're destroying before Sasha could get him.

Dangit.

My BFF had sent me some goat-milk caramels from a local farm, and they were so good, and we have so much milk in the fridge, I gave it a shot yesterday.

Not cajeta - like actual caramel candies.

Well, it never actually firmed up, so I don't know what the problem was. So now I have this 13x9 pan of gooey deliciousness that I don't want to go to waste.

Turns out it goes GREAT in coffee. 😃

I'll probably make some ice cream and drizzle that in it, too.

Abby is a turd and is hellaciously impatient to be milked while Raja finishes her breakfast. Who taught my goat how to cop-knock???

Poor Sasha has yet another ear infection. Off to the vet we went. Sham accompanied us.
The staff at Wolftever were thrilled. Sasha was not as thrilled.

Lortamercy, what a past 24 hours.

Abby was due on the 18th. My husband and I were about to headed out for his very belated birthday dinner yesterday when Abby decided going into labor was a good idea.

A rough pull later, she gifts us this chamoise boy.
..a couple of hours later, she was being... very weird. I thought she had another kid, but this boy was so big...

This morning, she continued to be weird, and mercifully a local goat vet fit us in, did an internal, a palpation, and an ultrasound.
...she was diagnosed with being "weird" and "dramatic."

She was given antibiotics and I was instructed to give her lute just in case she had a retained placenta.

ANYWAY, she gave me the most beautiful boy, who my mentor/Abby's breeder has named ShamWow.

Sasha is elated to play surrogate mom. Mac is... not elated.

The boys got evicted to the girls' former stall, which was getting cramped for 5 adult goats. The Sir repaired the bigger stall the other weekend, and we fixed the little loft platform in it.

So everyone spent the night in their new digs last night, and the girls were having some wild zoomies this morning as I milked Raja, who joined in after. I only caught the tail-end, so they're tuckered out here, LOL.

Glad to see they're happier.
