We’re keeping the St. Paddy’s fun going through Friday! While our Dry Irish Stout has kicked, you can still enjoy a green pint or sip on a Galway Girl cocktail with Jameson, lemonade, and ginger beer. And don’t forget — Jameson shots are just $6 through Friday! 🍀🥃 Feeling adventurous? Try a Pale Fire car bomb with our newly tapped Back Creek Maple stout!

🎵 On Friday, we’re bringing Matthew O’Donnel, the bard of the Blue Ridge, to the taproom 7-10PM! O’Donnell is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and performer of traditional Celtic music based in Charlottesville. An experienced practitioner of the classic pub singer’s trade, Matthew brings a modern energy to traditional drinking songs, sea shanties, Irish jigs & reels, timeless folk favorites and original songs. A typical live show sees Matthew switching between the accordion, bouzouki, cittern, guitar, banjo, fiddle, bodhran and tin whistle as he roars out singable choruses to the rhythm of kick drum and tambourine (played with his feet).

March 3rd is Tripel Day! 🍺 To celebrate, we’re putting Loop & Lil back on draft, Pale Fire’s version of this distinct style of beer. It’s an 8.5% ABV boozy Belgian treat to delight the senses. Yeast from an ancient monastery brings notes of mulled spices and sugar plums. The name is a reference to the Townes Van Zandt song, If I Needed You. 🎵 “Swim the seas and ease your pain.”

So, what is a tripel? Often confused with a triple IPA, but it is in fact an entirely different beer! A tripel is a strong (typically 7%–10% ABV), golden-colored Belgian-style ale known for its complex, fruity, and spicy yeast flavors with a dry finish. Originating from Trappist monks, the name refers to a tradition of using three times the malt of their standard beer.

The two duos, Lowland Hum and David Wax Museum, will open the show, followed by your first local introduction to their new project.

These musicians have been touring and recording for over 20 years, featured on CBS Saturday Morning and NPR’s Tiny Desk, and lauded by The New York Times, Washington Post, TIME, and Rolling Stone, among others. The Golden Hours’ debut record Terra Nova (to be released in 2026) includes “Day Wheel,” an NPR Music Song of the Day.
