TAG YOUR FAVORITE HARTFORD FOOD ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESSES IN THE COMMENTS.

Now is the time to share all those ideas, successes, and hardships that you’ve experienced during your business journey. This includes organizations and businesses that support food businesses.

Link in bio to register or head to Katrice Claudio, reSET Food Program Manager, joined a panel at the Big CT Food Event with organizations in the food entrepreneur pipeline. Foodpreneurs openly shared their struggles with the pipeline gaps.

Coincidently, the Hartford Culinary Collaborative aims to explore these issues further. They’re gathering information on how food businesses start and grow, aiming to find solutions. They want to identify strengths, areas needing support, and where new ideas could help.

To do this, the Collaborative is hosting community conversations in March and April. These events offer food, childcare, Spanish translation, and a financial incentive for participation if helpful.

New food businesses (under 3 years old) will meet at the Swift Factory on March 11, 5:30-7 PM.
Established ones (3+ years old) are gathering at Parkville Market on March 18, 5:30-7 PM.

Tag a food business you know of in Hartford, regardless if they are home based or in their own brick and mortar. We want to hear from you!

The Hartford Culinary Collaborative () is gathering information on how food businesses start and grow.

Share your thoughts on the process and supports for starting a food business in Hartford! We need your help to identify the strengths and areas where support is needed, as well as gaps where new ideas would be helpful.

The Collaborative is organizing a series of community conversations this spring, with food, childcare and Spanish translation if needed, plus a financial incentive if that is helpful.

Join us for an evening with 15 CT-based food start-ups graduating from the Food Incubator as they present their food business pitches, share their stories, purpose and impact with the overarching food community in Hartford and beyond.⁠

Mayor Luke Bronin will kick off the event along with other guests. After hearing from the business owners, you will actually be able to taste the food! There are cash prizes for Judge's Awards and an Audience Choice Awards - yes, you get to pick a favorite up-and-coming foodie spot so that they can receive start-up funds!⁠

This is a free event, but if you are in a position that allows you to make a donation, all money raised by ticket sales will be reinvested into the Food Incubator program to keep our programs thriving into 2023 and to continue serving the future restauranteurs, bakers, chefs, etc. growing in Hartford. Suggested donation is $20.⁠

Community Solutions runs a variety of projects in Hartford, including Swift Factory’ commercial kitchen space for training in culinary arts and food service.

Forge City Works runs The Kitchen Cafe, a food-focused social enterprise, alongside workforce development programs, and a weekly farmers market.
