The Great Smoky Mountain Hot Air Balloon Festival returns to Townsend on August 15, bringing a sky full of glowing hot air balloons, live entertainment, local vendors, craft demonstrations, food trucks, a beer tent, and a laser light show to end the evening. It's a fun event for all ages and the perfect excuse for a summer day in the Peaceful Side of the Smokies.

The countdown is on for the 2026 Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival, and we can't wait to welcome you to Townsend on **Saturday, August 15!

Before you head our way, take a moment to plan ahead so you can relax, enjoy the balloons, and make unforgettable memories.

📍 Festival Guest Information

🚗 Parking
Parking is available on the festival grounds in designated grass fields.

🚶 Walking
This is a large outdoor festival. Expect to walk on grass, gravel, and uneven terrain from the parking areas to the entrance and throughout the event.

🚌 No Shuttle Service
There is no transportation or shuttle service from the parking areas to the ticket gates or within the festival grounds.

♿ Accessibility
Please note that handicap parking is not available inside the festival grounds.

☀️ August Weather
East Tennessee summers can be hot! We recommend:
✔️ Comfortable walking shoes
✔️ Sunscreen
✔️ Hat & sunglasses
✔️ Staying hydrated
✔️ Taking breaks throughout the evening

on August schedule:

My mother has been moved out of ICU to step down but seeing as she still in the hospital with a brain injury I will likely be closed at least until August 8th. The progress has been an answer to prayer and I am grateful for continued prayer and understanding from my community!

I look forward to serving y'all in August and beyond! Take care and God bless!

Hey will be closed Tuesday through Thursday of next week as I need to go visit my mother in the hospital. Prayers for my family and understanding would both be greatly appreciated!

Greatful for some amazing people in my family and community that have helped me keep my head through these trying times!
