Today instead of our usual ranger cookies we have Biscottoni or milk cookies, not to be confused with biscotti. They contain lemon zest and milk and are light and fluffy, almost like a cupcake. On the opposite end of the scale are the Omega 3 breakfast cookies. The breakfast cookies are alpha gal safe and filled with heart healthy fats and oils, with walnut, flaxseed oats and olive oil.

These are our in-ground figs. I planted four last year and one the year previous. I seem to have lost one, but one of them just started coming up a week ago so it may still sprout at some point.

Varieties are: Ronde de Bordeaux, Campaneire, LSU tiger, and Chicago Hardy.

We have been selling figs for a few years now. I often tell customers that they are one of the few fruit trees that will fruit well in a pot. They do require exposure to some amount of cold before they will fruit, so just keeping them inside leads to disappointing results. Instead I put mine in the garage for winter once they go dormant and drop their leaves.

I store some of mine in the garage and some I plant in the ground where they are often killed to the ground due to winter cold. Most figs recover quickly after spring starts heating up.
