🐥🩷 Reasons Why I Love Silkies 🩷🐥

There’s just something about Silkies that completely stole my heart! 😂

✨ They’re basically fluffy little clouds with feet.
✨ Their personalities are HUGE for such little chickens.
✨ They’re sweet, quirky, dramatic, and sometimes downright ridiculous.
✨ No two ever seem to look exactly the same.
✨ Those fluffy cheeks, little crests, and feathered feet get me every time. 🥹
✨ They make the sweetest little mamas.
✨ And somehow… you can NEVER have just one. 🤣

Silkies are actually what made me fall even more in love with raising chickens. Whether it’s a Silkie, Satin, or one of my crazy little Showgirls, they each have their own personality and bring so much joy to Mize Creek Farms. 🩷

I may be a little biased, but I truly think everyone needs at least ONE Silkie in their life… although we all know one turns into 5… then 10… then suddenly you need another coop. 😂🐔

Mize Creek Farms is excited to announce that we’ll be a vendor at Southern Charm Homesteading Days that Saturday ONLY! 🤎

Come out and spend the day with us, shop local vendors, enjoy some good food, and of course — come see the chickens! 🐥🐓 We’re already looking forward to bringing some Mize Creek Farms cuteness with us!

🐥🩷 Let’s talk about some of the newer faces around Mize Creek Farms! 🩷🐥

A few weeks ago, we welcomed some beautiful new Polish to the farm, and we are already completely in love with them! 😍🐔 Those crazy little hairdos and personalities definitely make them stand out around here. 😂

And then we have our grow-out crew! 🥹

🐣 Seramas
🐣 Silkies
🐣 Kikirikis

These babies are extra special because we hatched them right here at Mize Creek Farms! 🥚➡️🐥 Watching them go from tiny eggs in the incubator to the little chickens they are becoming never gets old.

Some of these babies may eventually join our breeding pens, while others will be looking for new coops to call home as they continue to grow. 🩷

Our farm is constantly growing, changing and getting just a little more chicken-crazy. 🤭 And we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We’re so excited about the future of our Polish, Seramas, Silkies & Kikirikis and can’t wait to see what the next hatching season brings! 🐣✨

🐔🩷 Our Little Mixed Flock 🩷🐔

One of my favorite things is watching all these different little personalities grow up together. 🥹

For now, this is our mixed flock — different breeds, different sizes, different personalities… but they’ve all grown up together and know this little flock as home. 🏡🐥

Soon, a few of them will be moving into their own designated pens as we get everything set up for breeding. But until then, they get to enjoy being one big happy, slightly chaotic chicken family. 😂🩷

It’s going to be a little bittersweet separating some of them because we’ve loved watching them grow up side by side, but we are SO excited for what’s ahead at Mize Creek Farms! 🥚🐣

Lots of exciting things are coming, and we can’t wait to take y’all along for the ride! 🤍

🐣✨ Our Serama Pen is Coming Together! ✨🐣

Tiny chickens with BIG personalities! 🤭🩷

Our Serama pen has a little bit of everything — Silked, Frizzle & Smooth Seramas! 🐔✨ We are so excited to watch this little group grow and see all the adorable babies they produce.

Fluffy, curly, smooth… we’ll take them ALL! 😍 There’s just something about these tiny little birds that makes them impossible not to love.

We can’t wait to see what comes out of this pen! 🥚🐣 Stay tuned because hopefully there will be lots of tiny Serama cuteness coming to Mize Creek Farms! 🤍
