This heat wave has the chickens slowed way down on laying but the quail are going strong. The zinnias and coneflowers are showing out as well and I’ve been able to make so many pretty bouquets with the zinnias 🩷 How’s everyone else’s animals and gardens holding up in these high temps?

I have a few birds 👀 for a new 🏡. 2 little Serama roosters, a lavender mottled English Orpington hen, trio of (1) chocolate splash/(2) mauve English Orpington hens. Orpington hens are around 18 months old and laying daily, serama Roos are about 3 months old

We added baby celadon quail to our “collection” of poultry and I’m so pleased with them! They are such pretty colors and thriving so far. Already planning to start hatching their eggs once they’re laying so apparently quail math works like chicken math. 🫣
