Today I want to introduce you to Johnny Lawrence. Johnny owns Cedar Valley Farms. Johnny has farmed all of his life and has been with us for 5 years. While he grows produce, he specializes in pork.

We asked Johnny how he got into pork farming and who inspires him in farming. He said he got into pork farming because he saw a demand for what he called “clean meat”. He also said that he looks to Joel Salatin for inspiration.

In his free time at the market you can find Johnny sharing farming tips with other farmers, talking about his faith and spending time with his grandkids.

Come see Johnny on Tuesdays and Saturdays, buy some of his pork and ask him for recommendations on how to cook it.

It really is this simple. It doesn't take much effort to find numbers for local farms and once you talk with a farmer, he/she will know the numbers for the local butchers.

By buying the steer directly from the farmer and by paying the processing fees to the butcher, you cut out all the middlemen and don't have the additional costs of USDA certification, etc...

You'll end up with better quality meat and help local businesses during these difficult times..

Who needs Meat today?? ground beef $7 a pound (and fyi....its the same price at the store and that will shrink.... Ours doesn't!! Very,very lean!! You will love it!! For every 10 packs sold, you get a free pack!! Deal is today and tomorrow ONLY!!
