She’s a stunning Black CORIN Gold Classic Torbie Siberian Forest Cat with Russian roots, born on January 1, 2025—a true New Year’s baby. The gold trait is especially rare for the breed, making her all the more special.

She’s already made herself right at home, embracing our eclectic farm crew and adding her own touch of grace and mischief. Sweet as pie and stealing hearts left and right!

I picked up Maple and Alfie from Noble Fleece Alpacas and dropped off Eclipse and Midnight. Alfie will miss his cria friends, but Eclipse gets to play now. Maple was bred with McGregor on March 12th, making her due date February 14th, 2025. Midnight gets to spend time with her new boyfriend Albany.

Madonna (Emu) has laid 8 eggs so far! 1 every 3 days starting 1/12. Finally got the eggs in the incubator. Madonna and Kenneth are both blond that gives me a 1 in 4 chance of white chicks. I was trying to use the cheap styrofoam type incubator yet could not get the temp and humdity right. Found a used GQF incubator on marketplace. Guy had like 8 of them and is upgrading to a commercial incubator for quail eggs. Incubator came with quail egg trays that I had to engineer a makeshift tray for now. Ordered the right ones that I will switch out when they arrive. Wish me luck!

1/5/24 Alfie Update:

Alfie gained .4 lbs up to 17.6 lbs. Up 2 lbs in total.

Radiographs were completed today. Initial review showed some obstruction in the airway. Nothing life threatening nor will it impact Alfie’s life expectancy. Dr. Reed had an emergency surgery that she was not able to fully review to determine if the cause is congenital or due to trauma. I should know that tomorrow.

They were changing the bandage tonight and recording for my future reference on how to do so myself at home.

Last but not least and best news is that I pick up Alfie tomorrow!!!

What a crazy 1st - 8 days of life for Alfie. He has proven to be a fighter.
