Congratulations to our October Employee of the Month, Doug White!

A valued member of our Harvesting team, Doug keeps things running! Literally! Whether a part is delayed or a machine is in the middle of a complicated breakdown, Doug doesn’t let it get him riled up. He’s always respectful, and his “it is what it is” attitude makes him easy to work with, even in the tensest situations.

Don’t be fooled by Doug’s easygoing demeanor. He knows when the pressure’s on, and while he never lets it show, he gets things done.

Recently, one of our harvesters broke down during peak season. Doug stayed late into the night working on it and was back early the next morning to see it through. His determination to fix the problem helped ensure operations never missed a beat.

Congratulations on a well-deserved nomination! We are thankful for your steady hand and calm presence and are lucky to have you on the team!

We're incredibly proud to see two members of the Tater Farms team recognized for their leadership and commitment to Florida agriculture.

Congratulations to Carleton Johns on his election as an At-Large Director on the FFVA Board of Directors and to Gage Hjort for graduating from the FFVA Emerging Leaders Development Program.

At Tater Farms, we believe investing in people is just as important as investing in the future of our industry. It's exciting to see both Carleton and Gage recognized for their contributions and dedication to agriculture.

SJC Farmers Recognized 🚜🌾

Two members of the St. Johns County agriculture community were recognized for their leadership and professional development at the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association’s 82nd annual convention in Naples, Florida.

Carleton Johns, Vice President of Tater Farms, was elected to serve as an at-large director on the FFVA Board of Directors. FFVA members approved Johns’ nomination during the association’s annual board and membership meetings.

Johns also serves on the St. Johns County Agriculture Advisory Committee, which provides a connection between the County and local agricultural community. The committee helps identify opportunities to support and strengthen agriculture in St. Johns County.

Gage Hjort, Turf Operations Manager for Tater Farms, was recognized as a graduate of the FFVA’s Emerging Leaders Development Program, Class 15. The program provides participants with opportunities to develop leadership skills and gain a deeper understanding of Florida’s specialty crop industry.

The recognition of Johns and Hjort at the annual convention highlights the leadership and continued professional development of members of the St. Johns County agricultural community.

From sunrise in the field to sunset on the farm, there’s a lot that happens before a pallet of Tater Farms sod makes its way to its new home.

It starts right here — growing in our fields, cared for by our team day after day. Then it’s harvested fresh, stacked, loaded, and prepared for the journey to our customers.
By the end of the day, another piece of the farm is ready to become someone’s new lawn, landscape, athletic field, or project.

Grown here. Harvested fresh. Ready for wherever it’s headed next. Just another day at Tater Farms.

Last week, we celebrated Driver Appreciation Week and took some time to recognize the incredible drivers who keep Tater Farms moving every day!

We welcomed the On-Site Mobile Shoe Store to the farm, where each of our drivers received a pair of boots through Red Wing’s Ultimate Fit Experience.

We also treated the team to a catered lunch from as a small way of saying THANK YOU for everything they do.

Driver Appreciation Week may be over, but our appreciation for our drivers certainly isn’t. Their hard work, dedication, early mornings, long days, and commitment to our customers play a huge role in the success of Tater Farms.

We truly appreciate each and every one of our drivers. Tater Farms wouldn’t be where we are today without you!

A big congratulations goes out to Jerry Skipper for earning this month's Employee of the Month award!

Jerry is known to be a team player in all aspects. Whether it's voluntarily staying home on a slow day so someone else can have the hours, or watering pallets at the Sod Lot to lend a helping hand, this guy isn't just looking out for himself. He always brings a positive attitude to the table, no matter what the situation. A quick chat with Jerry and you'll feel like you've just spent time with an old friend. His efforts and attitude ensure a smooth operation! We're thankful for all he does (and doesn't do).

Scotts® Viridian going down on a recent install!

Viridian is a St. Augustine variety known for its deep, dark green color and slower growth, meaning less frequent mowing while still getting that thick St. Augustine look.
