We had an amazing time this weekend. Over 200 people stopped by to learn about the farm (and pet bunnies). Thanks to donations, we were to give out copies of I Am Jazz as well as the “free hugs” that were made by fiber artists around the state. Along with our usual supply of bunnies, this year A brought her snake. It was so fun to watch people realize the snake around her neck (or mine at times) was real. Tano will definitely be joining us again next year.

I knew June was going to be busy, but somehow I still managed to underestimate it. I am currently in a full-time position with the State of MN and, at the beginning of June, I also restarted my PhD program. Coupled with Pride, it has been a busy month and I haven’t been making any posts. We have a few events going on this month and we would love to see you there!

Harvey, Penny, and Toffee visited Garlough Environmental Magnet School. It was a lot of fun. This was Harvey’s first time inside a non-barn building and he was a bit confused, but was able to adjust quickly. Harvey absolutely adores kids and was an amazing alpaca ambassador. Thank you so much for inviting us!

I bumped into Kristi (one of our awesome board members) at Shepard’s Harvest today. We were both stopping by to pick up a set of rainbow stitch markers. Great minds think alike!

Happy 8th birthday to Ellie Mae, the alpaca that started it all. The first photo is from the day we got her, the second photo is today. If you look closely, you can see K**a playing peek-a-boo!

Even though the alpacas have been comfortable with Q hanging out with them, they’ve been scared of the bigger dogs. It’s been about a year since we’ve tried to introduce them to Paddington so we decided to try again. For the most part, Paddington was uninterested, but he did enjoy some nose boops from Iris and Kona.

If you’re looking for a way to get involved, is conducting a needs assessment of Minnesota’s LGBTQIA2S+ community. This is a critical opportunity to make sure LGBTQIA2S+ voices are heard by the state of Minnesota and community partners.

This survey helps identify the challenges, priorities, and needs of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals across Minnesota, guiding advocacy for increased resources and better protections in Minnesota. By taking and sharing the survey, you’re helping shape a future where our communities are better supported and represented.

The survey is open for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals aged 18+ and parents/caregivers of LGBTQIA2S+ youth. It only takes 15-20 minutes to complete, but the impact will last for years.

I know many LGBTQIA2S+ folks have concerns about sharing information with the government. Since I have been working on this project with the council, I’m happy to answer any questions you have and talk to you about privacy protections.

Bring a project that you’re working on or just bring yourself. All are welcome. If you’ve never done any knitting or crochet, no worries! We’ll have materials to share and are happy to help you get started!
