Yarrow Valley Natural Goat Products Breeders of goats & makers of goat milk soap. Their boys built a barn for them and the nubians soon followed.

Kay (Yonkers) Coates knew she enjoyed animals but never knew she'd fall in love with nubians & want to raise them...and her husband Gary had no choice but to come along for the ride! :)

Gary & Kay had four children who joined in on showing the goats in 4H & drinking the goat milk (though they admit they preferred a little bit of chocolate in with it!) Gary's then job as a minister resulted in

many moves and thus the owning of goats was no longer possible. Now with the kids all grown & looking for a retirement hobby the Coates decided to try their hand at goats once more. Gary and Kay work together on the chores; walking the huge hill numerous times a day down to the red barn. They are extremely proud to have had one of their grandsons and one of their nieces daughters show goats in 4H; passing the love of goats onto a new generation. Gary & Kay breed their goats & Kay uses the goat milk to make beautiful soft bar soaps. Each one is handcrafted and packaged in sustainable wrapping. You can purchase the lightly scented soaps in Lake Odessa at Hammer & Tacks, Denny Farms in Ionia/Saranac or contact us for other means of purchasing.

I’d like to send out a huge thank you to all of you that participated in making Yarrow Valley so successful. We’ve met so many wonderful people in the last 44 years since we were given our first two Nubians. it makes us sad that we have had to sell all of our livestock because it was becoming too much for us 82 year olds to handle. We are leaving this Yarrow Valley site open for a while and would love if you would post pictures of your YV goats and keep us posted on how they do at the shows. We will still have our soap available for a couple more years.
