And anyone else who was there to volunteer, help out or otherwise hang out.

Our daughter now has a new breed love, which is great because me (mom) LOVES a good herding dog. Pictured here with a couple lovely Shelties from this weekend; absolutely in love with the bi-black color, it’s so pretty!

Second day sales were absolutely amazing and I need to be honest we did a little better than break even after travel expenses. But for us as a family this weekend was more.

More than selling products, more than making money, it taught our daughter responsibility. Not only that but dad (Ken) has absolutely found his vibe, he loves releasing dogs it’s all he talked about on the way home was how dog a did this or dog b did that.

We made friends, in dog parents and in dogs themselves, we are just as excited as the owners to share personal bests with you! These make our day and it’s what we strive for.

A few of you tipped us for releasing dogs - this was unexpected, but it also made us realize dog people care, you guys care more about the community and people getting along than you do the money. It’s a feeling of belonging, a feeling of wholeness and togetherness and friendship, or at least companionship in both people and dogs even if we aren’t people people ourselves.

I’ll be honest and I’m only saying this because it needs to be said, that feeling is something I never got in the equine world. Not in 20+ years trying.

It was a unseasonably cold and wet end to May today with temps maybe reaching 40° with wind and ice pellets for rain (rain but it was so cold)

Today we didn’t do the greatest in sales. This seems to be the general curve with dog events, most people browse the first day and buy the next. Either way it was WONDERFUL to see everyone today.

Everyone who stopped by, who did buy something, who let us release your dogs. We enjoyed every minute of it, for us this isn’t about the money, we enjoy meeting all the people all the dog breeds we get to meet and enjoy them without having to own them. Releasing dogs for us gives us the ability to meet and connect with people and learn about breeds that we have always liked but would never own ourselves.

With that said, thank you we look forward to tomorrow!

A note on payments, cash is preferred, we let our daughter help check people out and this is something she can do with minimal assistance. Though we can take card payments also! This is done through PayPal invoicing - see the second screen - an invoice is sent to your phone via text or email and you can pay it with ANY major CC/debit card/Apple Pay and Venmo.

We as a farm only have a PayPal account but this allows us to take multiple forms of payment, it is much simpler for us to just have one account for card payments, this way allows us to give you the flexibility on how to pay without restricting you to our choice in payment method.

Springtime on the farm isn’t always about green grass and or flowers.

Sometimes spring comes in the form of something cuter such as babies. This little calf is owned by a local farm, I got the grateful opportunity to say hi to them today.

I was also lucky enough to get them on camera.

Enjoy!
