Our 2022 weeding crew. We are raising 30 geese this season to be used for weeding. Grass weeds are much more problematic in farming than their broadleaf counterparts. The root systems of many grasses tend to regenerate after hand pulling if even the tiniest root piece is left behind, especially quack grass which we have a lot of. The geese won’t be able to remove any roots but we are hoping that they can exhaust the weeds, even the quack-grass with enough rotations. We will be fencing these geese with our mobile, electric fence to have them work an area and then more them to new sections. We’ll keep you posted on how this experiment works out. Also, we’re building some new mobile turkey structure like the one in this photo. Stay tuned to see photos of the build.

The first round of our pastured poultry is back from our processor!

All chicken is pasture raised with soy-free, organic grains. Prices listed are per lb/ pricing. Cuts and whole chickens are frozen. Fresh chicken and cuts will be available the week of July 25th.

Small changes can add up!

We have a variety of ecological plants to choose from at the nursery, including many pollinator support plants, perennial edibles and fruiting bushes. Come check us out!

If every lawn in Massachusetts was converted into a garden, the combined area would be larger than the Grand Canyon National Park. Try converting just part of your lawn into a New England native plant garden. It makes a difference!

Our first round of broiler chicks arrived Tuesday. They went straight onto pasture. This Year we are raising out pastured broilers on organic, soy-free feed. Reach out if you are interested in purchasing our fresh whole chickens or cuts, available starting June 25th.

Apple and pear rootstock planting. These rootstocks will be grated over and grown out for 2-3 years before ready for sale. We are grafting a variety of rootstocks, some vigorous, early producers may see their first fruits in as little as 3 years, others maybe 5-8 years. Each rootstock has its own advantages and disadvantages which include anchorage, disease resistance, mature size and other other factors as well.
