As part of our Lasa + Lugar anniversary cup collection, we’re celebrating the places behind the flavors that inspire our menu.

Known for its cool climate and lush strawberry farms, Baguio has become synonymous with one of the Philippines’ most beloved fruits. A visit to the City of Pines isn’t complete without strawberry picking, strawberry taho, strawberry jam, or one of the many strawberry treats found throughout the region. 🍓

To honor this iconic destination, we created a drink inspired by the flavors that have made Baguio famous:

🍵 Strawberry Matcha
Made with oat milk, layered with vibrant matcha, and finished with our signature cheese foam.

Sweet, creamy, earthy, and refreshing, just like a stroll through Baguio’s strawberry fields.

When we were researching where all of our flavors originate from the Philippines, we immediately connected strawberries with Baguio 🍓

This cup designs brings fond memories as Lalaine and Eric both had the opportunity to visit the City of Pines - Eric on his first trip to the motherland as a child and Lalaine during her study abroad program 🇵🇭

A boba barkada favorite has finally returned… this time, with a twist 😋

This month’s flavor of the month is mango sticky rice, offered two ways - our OG milk tea and as a matcha 🍵

Mango sticky rice is traditionally known as a popular Thai dessert that consists of sweet, sticky rice cooked with coconut milk, served with slices of ripe mango, and often topped with a drizzle of coconut cream. This beloved dish is known to symbolize unity and togetherness which intrigued us, considering that SAMA SAMA means togetherness in Tagalog ❤️

But did you know that there is a similar dish made in the Visayas? This version is a sticky rice snack cooked in coconut milk and sometimes ginger, called p**o maya. It is served with sweet ripe mangoes and is paired with sikwate, a Filipino hot chocolate that is sometimes poured over the rice. Another version uses a violet variety of sticky rice and it may be shaped into triangles and wrapped in banana leaves in Cagayan de Oro!
