Van Wyk Acres Dairy Goats

We raise Alpines, Nubians and Recorded Grades in NW Iowa. Thank you for your interest in our herd. We have been raising Alpines and Nubians for over 40 years.

After having a commercial dairy in north central Iowa for over 20 years, we decided in 2013 to reduce the herd and move to NW Iowa to be closer to family. Our goal is to breed animals that are correct and can have a long, productive life.

**SOLD**
We have a February born buck kid that is ready to start breeding season. His dam, Money Talks had a promising start to her show career as a milker before an udder injury cut it short. His sire, Agavero, is one we trust to push production in his daughters.

We’re heading home from the Flatwater Classic with 2 new pending permanent champions in the trailer! Paternal sisters Free Money (2x grand) & Vionic (1x grand, 1x reserve) had a great show. This makes 3 permanent champions in our herd out of Harmody RHFR Zamara’s Liron. His 3 year old daughter, Dubious Honor, also had a good day going 2x reserve.
We didn’t take many pictures today so these doe pics from previous shows will do. Thanks to the Nebraska committee for a warm welcome & nice show!

No shows for us this weekend, so the does are relaxing on fresh sheets.

First show of the season is in the books after a roadtrip to Missouri with our friends from Eagle Creek. We only took a handful of does and our young does were reserve to a beautiful aged doe from the Maple Wind herd.

We have a mid March buckling available that would fit a production-minded herd. His dam, Pipit, has started her 2nd lactation with a bang, with milk tests of 16.6 & 17.4 lbs and averaging 4.6% bf. She’s following up on her solid yearling lactation of 290 2447 81 66. Pipit is an easy hand milker and has a fairly laid back temperament as well.
The buckling’s paternal granddam, Fond Regards, had a 2025 lactation of 336 3179 118 91.

The second available buck is a February kid out of Money Talks & Van-Wyk-Acres T Agavero.
Money Talks was a long & lanky young doe (pictured as a 2 year old) but has matured into one of our biggest does now as a 4 year old. She missed last show season due to illness but should be back in the ring this year.
Agavero is a homebred buck we used for several years and we still reach back into the semen tank for him when we want to add milk.

Some of the herd relaxing after a completed monthly milk test. Top honors went to 2 year old Pipit with 17.4 lbs.
Pipit has a buck kid available out of our junior herd sire, CordialyYours (Milar-Farm Royal Image x Fond Regards).

SOLD- We have 6 April buck kids available that are 1/2 Alpine 1/2 meat cross. We also have several March Alpine buck kids available for meat/pet/companion. All kids are lambar trained. Alpines are disbudded and have received 1st round of CD&T. PM for more info.
