🎁 A Personal Note
This bottle was given to me by Izumi Graham, owner of TARTINO VINEYARDS and a longtime Instagram friend. I’d been looking forward to trying one of their limited-production w**es for quite some time, so I was very happy to finally open it. Thank you, Izumi, for this wonderful gift and for sharing it with me.
🐕 TARTINO VINEYARDS
TARTINO VINEYARDS is a small estate vineyard owned by Simon and Izumi Graham in Ramona, California. The vineyard sits in the hills of San Diego County, within the Ramona Valley AVA, at around 1,500 feet (460 metres) above sea level. The name comes from their two vineyard dogs, “TARTufo” and “nocINO.”
Their Cabernet Sauvignon is made entirely from estate-grown grapes, with around 300 bottles produced each year. The w**e spends 24 months in French oak, with a previously used barrel selected to keep the focus on the fruit rather than the oak.
🖋️ A Label with Meaning
The label was designed by Japanese calligraphy artist Mr. Kawahara. The seal “Seizan” (正山) combines 正, suggesting “true” or “righteous,” with 山, meaning “mountain.” Together, the characters express the idea of a “True Mountain,” symbolising strength, stability and quiet permanence.
It is a fitting idea for TARTINO’s approach to w**emaking: taking the time to build quality and character rather than chasing quick results.

🍷 Tasting note
The nose is fresh and expressive, with notes of blackberry, cassis, violet, mineral nuances and subtle earthy tones.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with moderate acidity and integrated tannins. Subtle earthiness and a savory bitterness add complexity and dimension.
The finish is long and persistent, with juicy dark fruit, mineral notes, subtle earthy tones and savory character.
A smooth medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with a good balance of fruit, acidity and integrated tannins. While elegant and delicate in style, it also shows good depth and cohesion, making it versatile with a wide range of dishes.

このボトルは、TARTINO VINEYARDSのオーナーであり、長年Instagramで交流している友人のIzumi Grahamさんからいただいたものです。
以前から、少量生産されているTARTINOのワインをぜひ飲んでみたいと思っていたので、今回ようやく開けることができ、とても嬉しく思いました。
Izumiさん、素晴らしい贈り物と、こうしてワインをシェアしてくださったことに心から感謝します。
🐕 TARTINO VINEYARDS
TARTINO VINEYARDSは、カリフォルニア州ラモナにあるSimonさんとIzumiさん夫妻が営む、小さなエステート・ヴィンヤードです。
ブドウ畑はサンディエゴ郡の丘陵地帯、Ramona Valley AVA内に位置し、標高約1,500フィート（460メートル）の場所にあります。
「TARTINO」という名前は、2匹のヴィンヤード・ドッグ、“TARTufo” と “nocINO” の名前から付けられています。
カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンは、すべて自社畑で育てたブドウだけを使用して造られており、年間生産量は約300本。
フレンチオーク樽で24か月熟成させていますが、樽香を前面に出すのではなく、ブドウそのものの果実味を大切にするため、すでに一度使用された樽を選んでいます。
🖋️ 意味を込めたラベル
ラベルは、日本の書道家・河原先生によってデザインされています。
ラベルに刻まれた印章 「正山（Seizan）」 は、「正＝真実・正しさ」と「山＝山」を組み合わせたもの。
その二つの文字から、**「真なる山」「揺るぎない山」**というイメージが生まれ、強さ、安定、そして静かにそこにあり続ける永続性を象徴しています。
これは、TARTINOのワイン造りへの姿勢にもよく合っています。
すぐに結果を求めるのではなく、時間をかけて品質と個性を育てていく。
そんなワイン造りの哲学を表しているように感じます。
🍷 テイスティングノート
香りはフレッシュで表現力豊か。
ブラックベリー、カシス、スミレに加え、ミネラルを思わせるニュアンスと、ほのかな土のような香りが感じられます。
口に含むと、ミディアムボディで、ほどよい酸とよく馴染んだタンニンが感じられます。
繊細な土っぽさと、旨味を伴うほろ苦さが複雑味と奥行きを加えています。
余韻は長く、ジューシーな黒系果実、ミネラル、ほのかな土のニュアンス、そして旨味のある風味が持続します。
全体として、果実味・酸・よく溶け込んだタンニンのバランスが良い、滑らかなミディアムボディのカベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン。
エレガントで繊細なスタイルでありながら、しっかりとした奥行きと一体感もあり、幅広い料理に合わせやすい、非常に汎用性の高いワインです。
