"Let me teach you how to grow food!" We are registered with the American Meishan Breeder’s Association and raise critically endangered Meishan Heritage pigs. We are in the process of procuring a small h

erd of registered Florida Cracker Cattle, which are a threatened breed. We raise purebred chickens and farm mixes and incubate/hatch chicks. Our focus is on threatened Modern Game Fowl, Standard-of-Perfection Black Copper Marans, American Bresse, Buckeyes and fun rainbow egg layers. We also raise Bourbon Red turkeys (watch list), ducks, guinea fowl and dairy goats. We grow fruits and veggies and manage our deer and turkey population. We aim to raise, grow, hunt or fish all of our food. I love to learn, teach, share and barter, so reach out!!!

We finally moved my sweet boy home to the ranch. At only 5 years old, he’s got the rest of his hopefully VERY long life to work, play and enjoy on this land. I can’t wait to push cows from one side of this place to the other on his back.

After an already eventful evening riding in the jump seat while my hubby mowed pastures, I was headed up in the buggy because it was WAY past my bedtime. Psych…I get a call from hubby on the way that I need to rush around to the farm lease because there are COWS walking in front of the camera, which means they are NOT in the pasture. Turns out a gate came off the hinges so the herd took it upon themselves to party in the hay barn. At least they didn’t take to the streets. 😅

This, my friends, is Hairy Indigo:

Forage and Grazing: Used as high-quality autumn grazing for cattle, deer, and goats. It provides high protein content (around 20%) and good digestibility.

Cover Crop: Planted to improve soil health and suppress harmful root-lesion nematodes.
